Born 1955.  B.S., 1978, National Taiwan University; M.S., 1982, University of South Dakota; Ph.D., 1987, Pennsylvania State University.  Research Associate, 1987-88, Princeton University.  Assistant Professor, 1988-92, University of Hawaii.  Visiting Scholar, 1990, University of California at Los Angeles.  Associate Professor, 1992-94; Professor, 1994-, National Taiwan University.  Member of the Chinese Chemical Society and the American Materials Society. 
 

Research Interests

1. Surface geometrical and electron structures. 
2. Characterization of materials surface reactions using SIMS, TPD, AES, LEED, HREELS, XPS. 
3. Angle/energy-resolved mass spectrometric analysis. 
4. Etching mechanisms in thin-film coating and preparation for optoelectronic devices. 
5. Heterogeneous catalysis on material surfaces.
6. Computer modeling of surface reactions by molecular dynamics calculations.
