Born 1952.  B.S., 1976, National Taiwan University; M.S., 1980, National Taiwan Normal University; Ph.D., 1985, the Ohio State University.  Postdoctoral Research Associate, 1985-86, Princeton University.  Associate Professor, 1986-91; Professor, 1991-, National Taiwan University.  Member of the American Chemical Society and the Chinese Chemical Society. 
 

Research Interests

1. Structural and functional studies of microperoxidases. 
2. Structurally modified metalloporphyrins have been synthesized.  Electrochemical methods have been utilized to generate various metal oxidation states, which are then characterized by laser Raman, IR, UV-Visible, NMR, and ESR spectroscopies. 
3. Catalytic reduction of O2, NO, CO2 and oxidation of the alkenes by photochemical and electrochemical methods. 
4. Electrode surface and hydrogen storage studies for nickel-metal hydride batteries. 
5. Electrochromic display of conducting polymer materials.
