• 特殊配位體之設計與合成－針對催化反應之需用而開發新的配位體及其金屬化合物。 
• 金屬碳烯化學－過渡金屬碳烯的基礎研究及其應用。 
• 高分子化學－運用有機反應或催化反應合成官能性及功能性高分子。 
   

• Ligand design: Studies of syntheses of new ligands and their organo-transition metal complexes are carried out to investigate potential catalysts for new organic reactions and polymerization. 
• Carbene chemistry: Various transition metal carbene complexes were prepared, and under investigation.  A major goal is to discover new reactions and synthetic applications by using diaminocarbene moieties.
• Polymer chemistry: Discovery of new catalysts for polymerization of olefinic compounds and design of new polymer containing transition metal ions for catalytic reactions are the major research interests.
