Faculty Position Opening

The department invites applications for a position in Chemistry beginning in the Fall 2002 or Spring 2003. The appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor level. Candidates with excellent record will be considered for higher ranks. If a higher rank is desired, please mention it in the application.
The candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in any area of chemistry. Postdoctoral experience is essential. Ability to lecture in Chinese Mandarin is a plus. Applicants have to demonstrate excellent research and teaching potentials. The preferred candidate will have expertise in the area of NMR and be able to teach in organic chemistry. Candidates show excellent record in other areas of research specialty will be considered also. The areas include but not limited to Nano Science & Technology, Bio & Life related Science, Polymer Science, Materials Chemistry, and Surface Chemistry.
NCTU is a leading research university in Taiwan. It is located in Hsinchu, right next to the Science-Based Industrial Park, home to Taiwan's high-tech industry. The university has more than 10,000 students with about half of them are in graduate programs. The department has 25 full-time faculty members and 400 students. About 2/3 of the students are in graduate studies.
