1970 年國立臺灣大學化學系學士; 1975 年美國華盛頓大學化學系博士; 1975-1977 年美國奧勒崗大學博士後研究;1978-1982 年國立臺灣大學化學系副教授;1982 迄今國立臺灣大學化學系教授;2004-2007 年任臺灣大學化學系主任; 2012-2014 年任國科會副主委。
